VARSITY TUTORS – OngoingThe Varsity Tutors Platform gives students more opportunities to learn at their own pace. 24/7 on-demand chat tutoring and on-demand essay review are live tutoring resources to help your student with any questions about homework, classwork, or test prep. Live group classes, recorded classes, and celebrity-led StarCourses allow your student to learn more about the subjects they’re interested in, and add a touch of fun. Assessments and self-study practice problems provide opportunities to drill skills towards mastery. And college prep & admissions resources ensure that your student has the best resources available to secure their future.
Students will log into their account by going to the Varsity Tutors website and using their OHS email and password. This is being offered to students in grades 9-12. Students can gain access to the program through the company’s website at https://www.varsitytutors.com/login using their school email address. 2025-2026 RUNNING START PROGRAM – Register Now
Running Start is a statewide dual credit program where qualified high school juniors and seniors can take college courses for both high school and college credit. If you are interested in exploring, or even enrolling in, college level programs Running Start through Centralia College may be right for you.
Eligible OHS juniors and seniors have the opportunity to enroll full time or part time in a community college while earning both high school and college credit. High school students will be taking college-level courses and therefore, must adhere to the same expectations. The decision to participate in Running Start should be made only after careful consideration of all the factors (pros/cons, time management, transportation, etc). This guide is intended to provide the necessary information to assist students and families as they make this important decision.

NEWMARKET SKILLS CENTER – Register Now
Any student who would like to attend New Market Skills Center next school year must complete an on-line application, even students who are enrolled this school year. Click HERE for the application and description of NewMarket Programs available to students. Once the application is received, an email confirming receipt will be sent to the student within 5 days and a request for approval email will be sent to the counselor. Please remember, only upcoming Juniors and Seniors will be considered for school year enrollment.
· General Enrollment: Mar 8-April 30--Consortium students placed on first-come, first-serve basis
· Open Enrollment: May 1--Consortium and Non-Consortium (Onalaska) students placed
A student is not placed until a counselor has approved and submitted all required documentation. Accepted students who applied prior to March 7th will receive email notification by March 21st.
CENTRALIA COLLEGE TRIO TS FIELD TRIP – Deadline April 14
Active and enrolled OHS Centralia College Trio TS Students who are interested in attending the Trio TS Spring trip to Central Washington University on April 25, can pick up a registration packet in the OHS College & Career Center. Completed packets must be returned to Centralia College Trio TS representative Ms. Wheelon, no later than April 14. NORM MANLY MARITIME EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline UPDATE March 31
The Norm Manly Maritime Education Scholarship program is designed to serve youth pursuing post-high school education or training for a maritime career path. The scholarship program is part of the Youth Maritime Training Association, operated by Puget Sound Maritime, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting maritime heritage and inspiring the next generation to carry on the legacy by pursuing maritime careers.
Awards: Scholarships amounts range from $1,500 on up to the $5,000 first-prize and will be awarded in May of 2025. These YMTA scholarships may be used for maritime programs at community colleges, technical and vocational schools, colleges, universities, maritime academies, or other accredited educational institutions. Awards support tuition and fees, and are sent directly to the recipient’s school/program. Download the application here.
COMMUNITY FARMERS MARKET OF CHEHALIS 2025 POSTER CONTEST – Deadline March 31
The Community Farmers Market of Chehalis is holding its annual poster design contest for the 2025 farmers market season. Prizes of $200 in farmers market tokens are up for grabs for the winning artists whose designs are chosen. Winning artwork will be printed as the Community Farmers Market of Chehalis’ official posters, and will also be distributed and displayed throughout local stores and public spaces, according to a Community Farmers Market of Chehalis news release.
Entries are due by March 31, and each design must be in 11-by-17inch vertical format. Entries must be emailed to info@chehalisfarmersmarket.com with the subject line reading “Poster Competition Submission.” Entrants must also include their full name and a phone number. For larger files, applicants can use file-sharing services such as Dropbox or WeTransfer. The judging process will begin on April 1 and is anticipated to take a week. Winners will be notified soon after.

CENTRALIA COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS – Deadline April 15Centralia College Foundation scholarships have been established by the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends of the college. Scholarships typically range from one quarter of funding to full tuition and may be available for a second year if recipients reapply.

1. To qualify for scholarships, you must first complete the admission process (if you are currently a Centralia College student skip to step 3, the application process.) Submit an admission form online now.
2. Once your admission form is processed, you will receive a Centralia College Portal Activation email from OKTA. It may take up to 72 hours (about 3 days) to receive the OKTA activation email. Remember, scholarships are not awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. If you do not receive the OKTA activation link within 72 hours (about 3 days) and it is not in your junk/spam folder, contact the IT HelpDesk at helpdesk@centralia.edu.
After activating your OKTA account, you can proceed to complete the scholarship application.

WSU SPRING PREVIEW DAY – April 26For Onalaska High School students looking for a good time to tour campus with their supporters, we are hosting Spring Preview Day on Saturday, April 26. It is the perfect opportunity for families to start their college search and visit Pullman. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to attend an academic and student services fair, meet world-class faculty and students, and check out campus all in one day.
I-5 AUTO GROUP SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline May 1
The I-5 Auto Group wants to support local graduating seniors pursuing career path options that can be achieved without requiring a 2-year or 4-year college degree. These careers can be very rewarding AND profitable. OLYMPIA MASTER BUILDERS SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline May 2
The Olympia Master Builders (OMB) Education Foundation is accepting applications for scholarship grants ranging up to $2500 to college or vocational/technical school-bound students, who currently reside within Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific or Grays Harbor Counties.
Students intending to pursue studies leading to a career in the building industry such as: engineering, architecture, drafting, industrial design, carpentry, construction management, etc. are encouraged to apply. The Lewis County PUD has a number of summer seasonal and internship positions available.
CF Summer Seasonal: The position is assigned to the Cowlitz Falls Hydroelectric Project, primarily for the upkeep of park facilities and of wildlife lands. Work may also involve construction and/or maintenance activities on other Project facilities.
Operations Summer Seasonal: The Operations Summer Seasonal position works out of the Districts Operations Center performing a variety of entry level activities as needed. The recruitment is for multiple vacancies for both Morton and Chehalis locations.
GIS Intern: The GIS Intern will provide temporary assistance to the Engineering Department with a variety of projects and tasks; including but not limited to field work, preparing, and updating maps, accurately recording and documenting activities.
Office Support Intern: The Office Support Intern will provide temporary assistance with a variety of projects and tasks. This position may support multiple departments throughout the district; to include but not limited to Human Resources, Safety, Records, Engineering and Energy Services.

WASHINGTON TRANSPORTATION SUMMER CAMP – Apply Now
A free one-week residential program designed to introduce HS students to various transportation topics, including urban planning, traffic safety, supply chain logistics, and connected and autonomous vehicles. The camp aims to engage students through hands-on learning experiences, field trips, collaborative projects, all while providing a glimpse into college life. Visit the Camp Site for details.
UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS – Deadline May 16
Female Aspiring Business Scholars (FABS) summer program - FABS is a four-day, overnight camp offered by UD’s School of Business Administration that provides young women hands-on learning through team projects, leadership experience, career exploration and mentorship. Campers will build skills essential for success in college and business, connect with peers, and experience life as a UD student. This camp is designed for rising juniors and seniors. We invite campers of all identities, backgrounds and experiences to participate.
Location: University of Dayton campus
Dates: June 22-25, 2025
Cost: The $300 total cost includes lodging, meals, activity materials, camp T-shirt and water bottle. A $100 nonrefundable deposit is due upon registration and is included in the total cost. Financial assistance is available. Families should indicate on the registration form if they would like to be considered for financial assistance, and we will contact them with additional information.

Summer engineering experiences at UD (SEE-UD) - SEE-UD camps offered by our School of Engineering provide students with an opportunity to explore the diverse fields of engineering and learn more about engineering at UD through interactive modules and hands-on lab experiences. At our three daylong camps on June 16, 17 and 18, participants will learn about a specific discipline of engineering while striving to solve problems our world faces today.
Location: University of Dayton campus
Dates: Each day features one or two engineering disciplines. Participants may attend multiple days if interested. On days with two disciplines, the sessions will run at the same time, and students will choose which session to attend.
June 16: Choose from Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
June 17: Engineering Technology
June 18: Choose from Electrical and Computer Engineering or Civil Engineering
Time: 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $100 per day (lunch included). Discounts available for students attending multiple days
Optional Daily Opportunities: Campus tour (3:30-4:30 p.m.), Women Engineering Program and Multi-Ethnic Engineers Program engagement and campus tour (3-5 p.m.), Parent and guardian programming: Three optional programs are available at no cost ($10 lunch optional).
The SEE-UD registration will close when capacity is reached. We anticipate all camps to fill quickly.
